What the licence does not cover

  • Commercial datasets, polling and research. In-depth data, custom polls and research we provide under a commercial licence are not covered by CC BY 4.0. Their terms are set in each licence.
  • Other organisations’ figures. Numbers we quote from NBC News / TargetSmart, the Silver Bulletin, 538, UF Election Lab and other sources belong to them. Our licence does not extend to them; credit the original source.
  • State records. Some states restrict how their voter files may be used, including commercial use. Our public files contain aggregates only, but if you work with the underlying state files, their terms apply.
  • Our name and logo. You may use our name to credit us. The licence does not let you use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.
