Precinct-level election data

Updated

Carmena’s Overton has precinct-level election data from two sources: historical returns compiled by academic and volunteer projects, and live results from official sites that publish precinct counts on election night. In 2026 we collected live precinct counts for North Carolina and for Cumberland County, New Jersey.

Historical precinct and county returns

Our past county and precinct returns come from three projects, as cited on our Methodology page:

Live precinct results in 2026

We collect live precinct-level results where the official source publishes them. In 2026 that was:

  • North Carolina: results by precinct and by early-voting site, in every county except Mecklenburg.
  • Cumberland County, New Jersey: results by election district.

Everywhere else, live results stop at the level the source reports, usually the county or the statewide or district total. North Carolina contests such as the North Carolina Senate race appear on the public race pages with a county map; Cumberland County is in New Jersey’s 2nd congressional district.

How to get precinct rows

The public JSON files and race pages stop at county level. Full precinct rows come with the customer API, described on Live election results API, by arrangement. The free files behind our charts are on the Data page.

Licensing and access

The customer API and the voter data are available by arrangement. We do not publish prices. Non-profits and academic researchers can have access on request.
